Duties: Provides strategic direction and oversees execution of all plans and activities of the district's recruitment, staffing and employment functions for certified and non-certified positions to ensure the selection and deployment of a highly qualified work force. Directs and manages the execution of employee assignments and transfer processes. Responsible for all compensation, salary structure systems, data, and record keeping requirements assigned to the department.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Develops and implements employment policies and procedures related to assigned functions; revises departmental work systems and procedures as necessary to continuously improve efficiency and productivity of the department;
Directs the daily activities of assigned staff in coordination with other Human Resources Management Team members. Duties include hiring, training, and counseling, evaluating staff performance and necessary discipline and/or discharge of staff;
Oversees and is responsible for the development and implementation of all aspects of recruitment and employment process for certified and non-certified staff including evaluation, screening, background checks, selection and placement of potential candidates for employment; provides guidance to district staff regarding employee selection;
Directs assignments and transfer process of teachers, building secretaries, and instructional assistants assignment annually;
Responsible for operation and maintenance of the Substitute Employee Management System and other departmental work systems;
Provides assistance and consultation to district staff interpreting human resources
policies/procedures and addressing a variety of staffing issues and accurate employee
records/files; ensures confidentiality of records and information, including HIPAA;
Monitors to ensure district compliance with federal and state regulations and labor
contracts/association agreements as required;
Prepares and administers departmental budget(s);ensures expenditures are within approved budget;
Oversees professional staff development; ensures department staff maintains required credentials;
Resolves problems and situations in a collaborative, tactful, courteous, and respectful manner; Analyzes data, implements and tracks metrics and reports outcomes;
Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Required: A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or Education Administration; an SRHR certification is a plus; and 7 years of progressive human resources experience with at least 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience. A viable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Wage or Salary: $103,321

Approximate Work Hours or Days: 5 days a week
