The New Albany – Plain Local School District is seeking a dynamic High School Principal who will work collaboratively with the Superintendent, administrative team, faculty, staff, students, parents and community to support the district’s Statement of Purpose: To create a culture of accountability that achieves the best academic and developmental outcomes for each student.
The New Albany-Plain Local School district is located 20 miles northeast of downtown Columbus, in the City of New Albany. The school district serves approximately 4,989 students, pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, and covers an area of 23 square miles. New Albany High School has a student population of approximately 1,500 students in grades 9-12.
The High School Principal will demonstrate skill, expertise and leadership across the Ohio Standards for School Principals: 1) Continuous Improvement; 2) Instruction; 3) School Operations, Resources, and Learning Environment; 4) Collaboration; and 5) Parents and Community Engagement.
Ensure the effective and consistent implementation of Ohio’s state standards.
Support teachers in differentiating curriculum and instructional implementation.
Conduct extensive data analysis and benchmarking and lead the use of data to guide the growth and development of student learning.
Integrate best practices and research into the continuous learning of the school to accelerate improvement to enhance student learning.
Facilitate collaboration and a culture of embedded professional learning among educators, working with teacher leaders and building professional learning teams in the building and district wide as an active collaborative member of the District Leadership Team.
Develop and assess performance on building and district goals and design short and long term academic, curricular, and instructional plans for improvement in coordination with the Director of Secondary Education.
Cultural and Community Leadership
Identify and strategically plan for social/emotional learning and the mental health needs of the student body with building and district staff.
Build open, positive and collaborative relationships across a variety of community stakeholder groups and work with the district leadership to build strategic partnerships with businesses and universities.
Develop a culture that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusion and champions equity among students, staff, and families.
Human Resource/Organizational Leadership
Implement the state’s teacher evaluation system (OTES) that includes student growth as a measure of performance and provide feedback, growth, and development for staff.
Attract, select, develop, and retain highly effective and diverse staff based on the needs of the school and achieving the district vision/mission.
Create ongoing, two-way communication with and between staff and stakeholders, including ensuring communication that builds a strong sense of community, fosters mutual understanding and solicits feedback from others.
Ensure effective collection and analysis of student performance data to prioritize areas for growth and development and to craft strategic plans for improvement.
Collaboratively engage the students, staff, and families to implement the district continuous improvement plan, including fostering leadership of staff and students to create a culture of accountability that achieves the best academic and developmental outcomes for each student.
Experience Required: Key Qualifications:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following characteristics:
A Master’s Degree or higher in Education and valid Ohio Secondary Principal's License.
5 + years of leadership experience (3 years as the Principal preferred).

Terms, Compensation and Benefits:
The successful candidate will be offered a two-year two-hundred sixty-day administrative contract excluding annual vacation and personal leave. Salary range of $105,000-$120,000 plus annual performance incentive compensation eligibility for achieving measurable outcomes; placement commensurate with proven experience and skills based upon job qualifications and performance responsibilities outlined herein.
