Duties: The State Support Team 16 (SST16) Director provides oversight to consultants who employ asset-based thinking, demonstrate initiative, have integrity, provide leadership, and can build relationships with districts, community schools, career centers, early learning centers, and county boards of developmental disabilities within the 8 county region. The Director and consultants have opportunities to learn from and work with the Ohio Department of Education's (ODE) Office for Exceptional Children (OEC), Office of Improvements and Innovations (OII), Office of Early Learning and School Readiness (OELSR), and Office of Literacy as well as with other State Support Teams and professional organizations across the state of Ohio. The Director and consultants are members of a team who understand the importance of working together to meet the needs of the educational organizations within the region. The Director and consultants work hard to support educational organizations in their efforts to move all students, most notably children with disabilities, to achieve higher levels of performance. State and regional travel is an essential part of the work.

Position Responsibilities to Ensure all Grant Requirements are Met:

* Supervise all aspects of the SST work while ensuring adherence and fidelity to the Department's required processes, tools and assigned activities
* Oversee all SST expenditures regardless of funding sources, including approval of all requisitions
* Interview and recommend candidates for hire or contracting to the Fiscal Agent to meet the deliverables set forth in this Agreement
* Supervise and annually evaluate all SST personnel employed by the Fiscal Agent to perform work associated with the SST in accordance with the Fiscal Agent's policies and procedures. Evaluation of SST consultants which, at a minimum, must include formal observation and use of scope of work deliverable(s) and role specific evaluation items
* Arrange the professional learning needed for each SST consultant based on the assigned integrated scope of work the consultant will be responsible for providing; which may be delivered in a variety of formats (face to face, teleconference, website links, e-training, etc.) and small group technical assistance
* Designate SST staff contact people for specific areas as requested by the Directors of OEC, OELSR, OII and/or the Literacy Unit. Note: Only those SST personnel that are not fully funded through this Agreement can be assigned work with the Department outside the scope of this Agreement. Prior to any such assignment the Directors of OEC, OII and OELSR must be consulted and agree to such assignment
* Oversee the timely and accurate submission of required and/or requested data and reports including, but not limited to, subcontract work and services provided by persons funded through this Agreement
* Attend the Department required and sponsored meetings and trainings and ensure that SST personnel attend the Department sponsored meetings and trainings, as required
* Oversee an up-to-date SST website ensuring minimum accessibility standards are met for individuals with disabilities and non-English speaking constituents. The Department will periodically issue updates and guidelines for SST website standards
* Regularly communicate and collaborate with other educational partners, including but not limited to, those outlined in Ohio's Strategic Plan for Education, Ohio's Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement, and Ohio's Consolidated ESSA Plan, the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI), the Ohio Center for Sensory Disabilities, Educational Service Centers (ESCs) (other than Fiscal Agents) and other state and national resource centers to leverage resources and expertise for the delivery of regional services

Experience Required: Qualifications:

* Have expertise and/or significant leadership experience working in a State Support Team or the Ohio Department of Education
* Have not less than ten years of experience, five of which must be in an administrative position in an educational setting
* Hold an administrative license issued by the State Board of Education
* Possess a master's degree or equivalent experience in administration, special education, curriculum, or early childhood education
